Two men wanted for attempted robbery in Hewlett

Crime Stoppers and the Nassau County Police Department are seeking the public’s help to identify the man in the above photograph and another for an attempted robbery that took place in Hewlett on Dec. 23.
At 12:23 p.m., two men acting as UPS carriers dropping off packages tried to enter a home on Henrietta Place armed with a handgun as a resident went to the door to sign for the packages, police said. The homeowner was able to close the door and the men fled in a black sedan.
One man is described as black, 20- to 29-years-old, 5-feet 10 inches tall weighing about 200 pounds with a shaved head. He was wearing a brown jacket. The other man is also black, 5-feet 10 inches tall weighing about 160 pounds, also wearing a brown jacket.
Anyone who can identify the men or have any information about this incident should call 1-800-244-8477. All calls are kept confidential. There is up to a $5,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.
