Remembering foundation founder Selma Seider
Susan Grieco/Herald
Pianist Evan Mitchell performed several classical pieces to honor the memory of Five Towns Music and Art Foundation founder Selma Seider.

The Five Towns Music and Art Foundation remembered the life of one of its founders, Selma Seider, with a musical performance by pianist Evan Mitchell at 10 Willow Pond Lane in Hewlett Harbor on Jan. 6 from 2 to 3:30 p.m.

Seider, who died last year at 90, helped found the organization in the 1950s that promotes the talents of artists and musicians from the Five Towns area and beyond.

Mitchell was the winner of the group’s annual Young Musicians competition in 2012. He performed several classical pieces in honor of Seider.
