Seven Lawrence High School graduates received scholarships totaling $2,000 and scores of former students from the Trade School reunited at the annual reunion held on the grounds of the Five Towns Community Center in Lawrence on July 26, where the trade school was located. The event began in the late 1960s with the formation of the Trade School Reunion Committee headed by Inwood resident Annette “Pat” Jones. The school was a recreational and educational center where children ranging from toddlers to teens could play or learn hoe to cook or photography.
