Two Five Towns men were arrested for the alleged theft of a wallet from a vehicle on Oceanpoint Avenue in Cedarhurst on June 13 at 2:16 p.m., police said.
Andre Palmer, of Roger Avenue in Inwood, and Raytawon Wright, of Madison Avenue in Cedarhurst, both 17, allegedly took the wallet and rode off on their bicycles after seeing the vehicle’s owner watching them, according to police.
The vehicle’s owner called 911 and a short time later, a Fourth Precinct police officer saw Palmer and Wright at the intersection of Park and Linwood avenues in Cedarhurst. Wright stopped, but Palmer rode his bike around the police car and headed west on Park Avenue. He didn’t stop after being ordered to several times. Police then found Palmer on Pearsall Avenue and recovered the wallet that included a New York state driver’s license and an unspecified amount of money.
Both men were charged with grand larceny-fourth degree.
