Woman injured during Inwood robbery

A woman walking to a bus stop on Doughty Boulevard in Inwood at 6 a.m. on April 15 was allegedly attacked by a man who demanded she give him her pocketbook, police said.

After she refused, he grabbed the bag from her shoulder and during the struggle to keep her pocketbook the woman, 55, suffered several cuts and scratches to her face, according to police. She was taken to a hospital for treatment.

The man took the pocketbook. He is described as black and was wearing a light colored sweatshirt and blue jeans.
