Community Chest South Shore honors Diane and Michael Rattner

Woodmere residents Diane and Michael Rattner were the honorees at Community Cheat South Shore’s ninth annual Neighbors in Need fundraiser at the Lawrence Yacht & Country Club in Lawrence on Nov. 1.

Diane serves on the Community Chest board and has previously coordinated the dinner. Michael is a past president of the Marion & Aaron Gural JCC and serves on that organization’s board. He is also a 35-year involved member of Temple Beth El of Cedarhurst. When their children were younger, the couple was active with the Hewlett-Lawrence Soccer Club and the Parent Teacher Association.

Cedarhurst-based Community Chest is as an umbrella charitable organization that raises money for the Five Towns Community Center, the Five Towns Early Learning Center, the Tempo Group Inc., and the Center for Adult Life Enrichment. It also helps individuals and families who face a variety of hardships through its Neighbors Helping Neighbors program.
