Understanding everyone’s role and learning how to respond quickly in an emergency were the primary focus of a joint drill that Atlantic Beach Rescue members took part in last month. Above were rescue members, Vicki Simao, Jennifer Hartnett, Natasha Behar, Hannah Meyerson, Jill Lebensfeld and Joe Gelb.

Atlantic Beach Rescue, a volunteer emergency response unit, led a joint helicopter multi-company drill, along with the Inwood and Long Beach fire departments and Nassau County’s Aviation Unit in Atlantic Beach on Aug. 19.
