Five Towns Kiwanis inducts four into Pediatric Trauma Society

Alice Grossman, Sean Lally, Brian Rappaport and Barry Ringelheim were inducted unto the Kiwanis Club of the Five Towns’ Pediatric Trauma Society for their volunteer efforts in supporting the Level I pediatric trauma center at the Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children’s Medical Center in New Hyde Park, which is part of Northwell Health.

Opened in 1991, the trauma center is the largest in the state and staffed by pediatric specialists in every discipline, ranging from surgery to internal medicine. The doctors, nurses and other care providers have treated children who have suffered injuries in vehicular accidents, falls and sports injuries. There are also Kiwanis trauma centers in Albany and Buffalo.
