Bernie Igielski and Rachel Gleitman, members of the Marion & Aaron Gural JCC in Cedarhurst, were once again the guest speakers at the Floral Park/Bellrose School District’s Tolerance Day, an event both Five Towns residents have attended all 10 years its been held.

Igielski and Gleitman shared their Holocaust stories with the students, who hopefully learned about tolerance and acceptance, as the survivors spoke about the importance of embracing diversity and kindness to mankind.

A young Hungarian immigrant held back his tears as Gleitman spoke to him in his native language. The visit ended with the students embracing their guest speakers.
