Hewlett man charged in burglaries

Hewlett resident John Moruzzi was arrested in Valley Stream on May 5 for allegedly burglarizing three homes, also in Hewlett, and stealing an assorted amount of jewelry and money from April 8 to 26, according to police.

There was also one attempted burglary.

Moruzzi, 28, of Chatham Road, allegedly robbed homes on the same street and on Trinity Place, police said. He is charged with three counts of burglary second-degree.

He is being held on a $10,000 bond or $5,000 cash that was not posted. Moruzzi is being represented by the Legal Aid Society of Nassau County.
