Hewlett resident Jillian Feuerstein goes ‘Into the Woods’ at New Paltz

SUNY New Paltz student Jillian Feuerstein, of Hewlett, was part of the cast and crew for the school’s Department of Theatre production of “Into the Woods” that performed shows Nov. 8 to 11 and Nov. 15 to 18 at the McKenna Theatre.

“Into the Woods” is a Brothers Grimm-inspired production offering a modern take on the classic fairy tales that are fixtures of the storytelling culture. Characters familiar from “Cinderella,” “Little Red Riding Hood” and “Jack and the Beanstalk” are forced to unite as a community and make sacrifices to protect each other and save their kingdom. Catherine Doherty, the assistant professor of theatre arts, directed the play.
