Before the South Side High School class of 2017 graduated and said goodbye to their home of four years, the seniors made the most of their last night of high school at their June 22 prom.
Using funds raised from various events, bake sales and even a junior year carnival, The class of 2017 used their budget of roughly $8,000 to host prom at the Carltun at Eisenhower Park.
After a night of fun, dancing and picture taking, it was off to the races…literally! The post-prom hosted by the PTA was held at Pole Position Raceway, a go-kart track in Farmingdale.
It was the last night as students, as the class, comprising more than 250 students, graduated the next day at Hofstra University.
