Police arrest five for Cedarhurst robbery

Allegedly stole merchandise from Verizon store on Central Avenue

Two young women and three juveniles were arrested for the alleged robbery of the Verizon store on Central Avenue in Cedarhurst at 4:02 p.m. on Oct. 3, police said.

Five people entered the store removed items from the shelves while a sixth distracted the an employee. All six then exited the store without paying for the items, according to police. When confronted by the employee, one of the alleged thieves picked up a metal pole and threatened him. After the victim called 911 the police arrived and arrested five of the six. Three of the defendants are juveniles, 14- and 15-years-old.

Suarez Sancho, 18, of E. 95th Street, Brooklyn, was charged with robbery-first degree and criminal mischief-third degree. Miracle Mann, 16, of Wartman Avenue, Brooklyn, was also charged with robbery first-degree and criminal mischief-third degree, along with menacing second-degree and possession of a dangerous weapon fourth-degree.

No injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing, police said.
