Police: Scooter riders struck man in Cedarhurst

Two young men, one 15 to 17 years old, who was the alleged driver of a green electric motorized scooter, the other the passenger considered 10 to 13, apparently struck a 54-year-old man outside of the Wok Tov kosher Chinese restaurant at 394 Central Ave. in Cedarhurst on Sept. 14.

Based on the surveillance photos the incident occurred between 5:41 and 5:44 p.m. on that Friday. Police said that the man walked out of Wok Tov and onto the sidewalk when he was then hit by the scooter.

After the crash both driver and passenger, who fell off the scooter, walked away without identifying themselves. They are described as white and both were wearing white shirts, , black pants and yarmulkes on their heads. The man suffered a serious leg injury and was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
