Festival producer, Johanna Mathieson-Ellmer pointed out that the Barrier Beach Blues and Arts Festival is part of the "Beyond the Dunes" project, an initiative to enlighten visitors to the fact that Long Beach is more than just a seasonal "sun and surf" destination. "If you look just beyond the dunes you will discover a wealth of amazing restaurants and businesses as well as cultural arts and community activities that are sure to please!"
