Teich enjoys reaching out to the community to share her ideas.

Based in Bellmore, Teich designs for clients from the North Fork to Manhattan. She creates spaces for “real living,” choosing furnishings and fabrics that are durable as well as beautiful. When needed, she consults and works with contractors and architects.
Teich deals with both ready-made and custom-designed furnishings. The Marlaina Teich Designs page on Facebook shows exquisite photographs of completed projects. When custom designing (such as a piece of furniture), Teich frequently adds strategically placed detail to make it unique. For example, some items in her photos show a trim made of nail heads.

“These days nail heads come in a variety of colors and textures,” said Teich. “They can even be made of crystals, which can add a touch of bling.” And wall coverings are back, she added. They are often used as accents. Whichever is chosen, Teich knows how to apply things tastefully.

Teich earned her degree at The Metropolitan Institute of Interior Design. She is currently an Allied Member of the American Society of Interior Designer.
