Franklin Square gas station robbed at knife-point

Police are searching for a knife-wielding robber who hit a gas station in Franklin Square on Friday.

According to detectives, a man entered the Sunoco Gas Station at 355 Franklin Avenue at 4:15 a.m. armed with a kitchen knife. He demanded cash from the male attendant working at the store. The victim complied and gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect took cigarettes before fleeing the scene eastbound on Polk Avenue on a bicycle. There were no injuries reported.
