Hanukkah brings welcomed alliance
Susan Grieco/Herald
Rabbi Chaim Blachman and congregants danced in the street after the Menorah is lit.

The Elmont Jewish Center celebrated 63 years and a vibrant congregation with an active Sisterhood at it’s first public menorah lighting on Dec. 9.

This Hanukkah, in addition to illuminating Elmont Road with the synagogue’s first lighting of a public menorah, the congregation celebrated its official alliance with Ohel Chabad Lubavitch of Cambria Heights. The festivities included traditional Hanukkah refreshments, music and dancing.
