Police suspect 3 in attempted fraud

The police report the arrests of three Elmont men for criminal possession of a forged instrument on Thursday, June 11, at 2:58 P.M. in Levittown.

According to detectives, officers were dispatched to Citibank, located at 3375 Hempstead Turnpike, for an individual attempting to cash a fraudulent check. Upon arrival a bank employee told officers the suspects had left the bank and were fleeing in a Hyundai. A responding officer located the suspect vehicle in the parking lot being driven by Vassileva Ubani, 18, of Monaco Avenue. It was determined that a passenger in the car, Alex Tenadu, 18, of Miriam Court was the suspect who had entered the bank and attempted to cash the fraudulent check. A third suspect in the vehicle was Justin Foe, 20, of 42 Buffalo Street. The three men were placed under arrest.

Alex Tenadu is charged with two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument.

Justin Foe is charged with one count of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument.

During investigation Vassileva Ubani was revealed to have had open Nassau County warrants for Robbery and VTL violations.

The men were to have been arraigned on Friday, June 12, at First District Court in Hempstead.
