Sewanhaka High School celebrated the academic achievements of more than 100 students at its honor society inductions on March 30.

At the ceremony, 63 National Honor Society inductees and 50 National Junior Honor Society inductees processed into the school’s auditorium as the senior high string ensemble played “The Entrance of Queen Sheeba.” The students and their families were then welcomed by Principal Debra Lidowsky, who commended the inductees on their achievements.

“Tonight we recognize you not only for your academic accomplishments, but to also challenge you to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service,” Lidowsky said.

Honor society officers spoke about scholarship, leadership, service and character during the candle ceremony before the inductees were presented with their certificates. The ceremony concluded with students taking the National Honor Society Pledge.
