Cyclinsanity Fitness is all about getting results while having fun. Where most cycling gyms offer one type of stationary bike, Cyclinsanity Fitness houses two unique brands and styles, in two separate studios. Cycling is done exclusively in classes with certified instructors.

Workouts are diversified to keep it interesting. Each studio is equipped with a large screen and a 1000-watt sound system, showing music videos and/or LED light shows. Dedicated cycling rooms each hold 20 bikes set up on three backlit tiers, so riders have a clear view of the instructor.

Studio-A features the RealRyder, a bike that can move side-to-side and emulates a true outdoor riding experience. The workout is 30 percent more difficult than on a traditional stationary bike, and a computer will track heart rate and cadence. Studio-B holds the Matrix IC7 bikes. Individual data — such as age, gender and workout frequency — is programmed into the bike’s computer and colored lights that change are used to guide the intensity zone of the ride. Classes are 45 minutes to an hour. Some cycling instructors incorporate small weights during the class, or a Pilate’s workout in a separate room.

Robert Catell opened Cyclinsanity Fitness in April. After many years in the corporate world, he decided to follow his dream of launching his own business. Fitness is his passion, and he felt that cycling, a popular workout, was the direction to go. Opening a cycling gym that gives the consumer a choice of two entirely different types of bikes and varied cycling workouts made his concept unique. He chose Rockville Centre because he loves the community and felt the south shore needed a place like this.

The newly built facility is beautiful and pristine, with high ceilings, pastel hues, and soft colorful lighting accents. Amenities include spacious modern restrooms with showers, two comfy lounges with television and music, beverages in vending machines and complimentary fruit. One can purchase workout T-shirts and tank tops.

Always looking to enhance Cyclinsanity Fitness, Catell will soon be adding yoga and circuit training with bikes. Future plans also include age-specific cycling classes for teens and seniors. Schedules are listed, and classes are described in detail on the website —www.cyclinsanityfitness.com — and you can sign up (reserve a space in a class) online. Gift certificates are available.
