On June 8, the Franklin Square Chamber of Commerce held its 32nd Annual Getting to Know You & Business Networking Event at the Frank P.Curry, Jr. VFW Post No. 2718. Elmont Memorial High School seniors receive scholarship from Elmont Public Library

The awards for the Elmont Memorial Public Library Scholarships were presented at the library's board meeting on June 22 at 7:30 p.m.

Two students from the district were selected but only one was presented with this scholarship at the meeting.

Karina Alfaro and Emanuel Yax received $1,500 from the library.

Get to know your local businesses in Franklin Square

On a warm evening on June 8, the Franklin Square Chamber of Commerce held its 32nd Annual Getting to Know You & Business Networking event at the Frank P. Curry, Jr. VFW Post No. 2718.

Attendees enjoyed "a taste of Franklin Square" with trays of food donated by local restaurants and diners, and free raffle prizes donated by Chamber members and other retail businesses.
