Midreshet Shalhevet High School freshman Naomi Lichter was inducted into the North Woodmere schools STEM (science technology, engineering and math) Scholars program, and received an iPad at the induction ceremony.

The STEM Scholars program provides enrichment by challenging students to think more deeply in several different areas of learning. Freshmen to juniors, roughly 10 percent of the students take part in activities and demonstrations from different disciplines that actively enhance their learning.

The students explore broad spectrum of areas including mathematical and logical puzzles, the theory behind optical illusions, the rotations of the sun and moon, different concepts encompassing physics, biology and electricity and even get to perform a dissection of a cow’s eye.
