Man robs Franklin Square Subway at gunpoint

A male suspect robbed a Subway sandwich shop by gunpoint in Franklin Square on Sept. 23, Nassau County police report.

According to detectives, an unknown white male suspect entered the deli at 679 Franklin Avenue around 8 p.m. Once inside, police report, the suspect pointed a small dark handgun at a female customer and pushed her to the rear of the shop, behind the counter. The suspect then demanded a male employee open the register, and when he did, the suspect stole an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing northbound on foot. No injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as an approximately 40-year-old white male who is 6-foot-2-inches with a regular build. He was wearing gloves, a black brimmed hat and had a stocking over his face.
