Business leaders from across Nassau County celebrated a night of networking and fundraising at Raymour and Flanagan on Oct. 15 — all to support the East Meadow-based Soundview Pregnancy Services, which provides free medical services to pregnant women.

“It’s our goal to help transform lives and benefit Long Island communities,” said Julie Fehring, the nonprofit’s director of development. “It means so much that everyone came together for us.”

This is the first multi-chamber fundraiser that the East Meadow Chamber of Commerce held for Soundview Pregnancy Services. Members of the chamber of commerce of East Meadow, Bellmore, Merrick, Garden City, Levittown and Uniondale were present to show their support.

Soundview Pregnancy Services has offices in East Meadow, Centereach and is looking into opening a third location in Riverhead. Some of its services include pregnancy testing, ultrasound, post-abortion recovery, pregnancy coaching, abortion education, adoption referrals, STD information, relationship coaching and community referrals.

Fehring said that the average cost of a client relying on the nonprofits services throughout the duration of their pregnancy is $1,500. The East Meadow Chamber of Commerce presented a check for $400 to the agency at the multi-chamber networking event.
