No one apprehended in police search across the Five Towns

New York City Police said that "no one is in custody" after an hours-long search that began and ended in the Five Towns and resulted in the locals schools being on lockdown (Hewlett-Woodmere School District) or lock out (Lawrence School District) mode on Jan. 15. Hebrew Academy of the Five Towns and Rockaway officials said they sheltered in place. HAFTR has campuses in Cedarhurst and Lawrence.

At 9:57 a.m. on that Tuesday, Nassau County police received a call for help from NYPD's Warrant Squad in a search for an unidentified man. Village of Cedarhurst officials said that helicopters circled overhead.
