Police rescue three teens in Point Lookout after their water vessel capsized

The Nassau County Police Department’s Marine Bureau rescued three teens after their water vessel capsized in Reynolds Channel off of Point Lookout on Sunday, Sept. 22.

According to a NCPD news release, the Marine Bureau responded to a call for a capsized vessel with three people in the waters of Reynolds Channel, in the area of East Marina in Point Lookout. Upon arrival, the crews determined that a paddle craft had capsized, due to strong currents, and placed three female teens aboard, into the water. With the assistance of the United States Coast Guard, the crews were able to rescue a 13-year-old and two 14-year-old females from the water at around 5:40 p.m. and transported them to the East Marina.

The teens were left in the custody of their parents and no injuries were reported, according to police.
