Latest Word, a pastel/pencil work, by Katherine M. Trunk, of East Meadow, will be on display at the “Women of the World” exhibit.
Curated by Kristy L. Caratzola, the exhibit showcases ancestral figures, ceremonial masks, warrior shields, and ritualized practical objects crafted from natural materials sourced from sacred sites. It also includes sophisticated carved and hand-painted wooden sculptures.
“As visitors engage with the works in this exhibition, they will be transported to another time and place, through interactions with authentic works of art introducing us to fascinating cultures in another hemisphere,” said Beth E. Levinthal, the museum’s executive director.
