Posted

Merrick Herald Life Senior Editor Scott Brinton, third from right, who is an adjunct journalism professor at Hofstra University's Herbert School of Communication, recently brought his Issues in Science Reporting students to a cleanup in the Merrick woodlands off the Meadowbrook Parkway to help out and report on the event. More than 50 volunteers attended the cleanup, which the fledgling Friends of the Meadowbrook Parkway Woodlands sponsored.

From left were Kimberly Charles, Rohanie Parbhoo, Kathleen Joyce, Jared Russo and Daniel Sanchez. They are creating a multimedia blog about the cleanup and the issues surrounding the woodlands. The blog will include articles, photos and video.
