Honoring A President
Visit Sagamore Hill, the former home of President Theodore Roosevelt, during its National Park Week celebration. President Roosevelt, as portrayed by the inimitable James Foote, will take part in a “press conference” with President Woodrow Wilson, portrayed by park ranger Howard Ehrlich. The two presidents, who are most responsible for creating our National Park system, will meet with visitors and everyone will get a chance to see “what could have been” if these two titans of the early 20th century had ever met to discuss the major issues of their day. Also, explore President Roosevelt’s beloved estate and examine the natural landscape on a guided kid-friendly nature walk.
Saturday, April 26. Sagamore Hill, Sagamore Hill Rd. Oyster Bay. For further information, call (516) 922-4788 or visit www.nps.gov/sahi.
