The 42nd Annual Freeport Hudson anglers shark tournament took place on June 14 at the Town of Hempstead Guy Lombardo Marina in Freeport. The weigh-in began at 6 p.m. and these threshers and makos, at left, were the biggest and badest boys in town. The largest catch was a 542.6 lb thresher from the crew of Reel Game.

The 42nd Annual Freeport Hudson anglers shark tournament drew hundreds of onlookers who waited to see the boats and their catch. The fishermen did not disappoint the crowd. Several dozen sharks were caught, including this year’s first place winner, a 542.6 lb thresher.
