Village board approves contract for Movies by the Bay

Village trustees approved several agenda items at Monday’s brief meeting, including the awarding of an independent auditing services contract of $90,000 for 2015 to O’Connor Davies LLP of Harrison, N.Y., and a $9,265 contract with Long Island Motion Picture Arts Center and Museum of Oceanside to provide outdoor movie equipment and film licensing for the “Movies by the Bay” program.

For the third consecutive year, the Village will show movies at Sea Breeze Park on Friday evenings from July 10 to Aug. 14. The sponsor is Bethpage Federal Credit Union.
In other actions, board members approved the following:

A $9,200 agreement extension with Hi Tech Air Conditioning Services Inc., of West Babylon for Electric Department maintenance services.

Block party applications for Ebony Gordon, June 20, on Sportsman Avenue between Archer and Southside Avenue, and Russel J. Lester, for June 20, on Cedar Street between Westside and St. Mark’s avenues.

Public assembly applications for the Chamber of Commerce for the July 2 fireworks show at Guy Lombardo Marina (rain date July 9), and for Freeport PAL for canoe races Aug. 2 at Seabreeze Park.

Appointment of the following to the examining board of plumbers: John Steffgen (chairman), Thomas Basalone, Philip Michael Flood, Christopher Thomas and Robert Adamczyk.

A tax certiorari settlement with a $29,101 refund to Meyer Suozzi for property at 158-A East Merrick Road, and a property tax bill correction and $915 refund to Berkman, Henock.

Sidewalk repair resolutions of $10,170 for 10 properties on Stevens Street, three properties on Ray Street, and one each on Miller, South Long Beach, South Ocean and North Columbus avenues and Union Street.
