Arrests

A 50-year-old Queens woman was arrested on Sept. 3 at 11:56 p.m. and charged with driving while intoxicated, unsafe lane change and defective headlights on Peninsula Boulevard.

On Sept. 6 at 1:16 p.m., a 55-year-old Uniondale man was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operator, unlicensed operator, defective brake lights and three open warrants on Peninsula Boulevard.

At 10:48 a.m. on Sept. 7, a 55-year-old Brentwood man was arrested and charged with three counts of aggravated unlicensed operator, circumventing an interlock device, defective brake lights, operating an unregistered vehicle and operating a vehicle without inspection on Peninsula Boulevard.

A 24-year-old Queens man was arrested on Sept. 7 at 10:20 p.m. and charged with aggravated unlicensed operator, unlicensed operator and disobeying a traffic control device on Sunrise Highway.

Grand larceny

On Sept. 4 at 11 a.m., a resident of Vincent Avenue reported that she received a call from a person claiming to be an employee of the Internal Revenue Service, who said that she owed $3,287. The caller said that if she paid immediately, the charge would be reduced to $1,500 and directed her to conduct a money transfer. The total loss was $1,500.

On Sept. 11 at 10:12 a.m., a Union Avenue resident reported losing his wallet, which included his driver’s license, a Chase Bank debit card and a TD Bank debit card. After checking his account, he discovered that an unknown person made several fraudulent charges on both accounts totaling more than $84.

Petit larceny

An employee of The Barn, at 241 Hempstead Ave., reported that on Sept. 6 at 10:26 p.m., a man who was about 25-years-old, 160 pounds and 5-foot-7, with a medium complexion who was wearing tan cargo pants and white sneakers entered the store and asked for three packs of cigarettes. When the employee was distracted, he stole the cigarettes and left the store. Total loss was more than $31.
