Cops: Man robbed Sears, pepper sprayed employee

Nassau County police are searching for a male suspect who allegedly stole items from the Sears at Green Acres Mall and pepper sprayed an employee.

According to detectives, a man reportedly took several tools from a display shelf and placed them in a bag on Jan. 16 at noon. An employee tried to stop the suspect from leaving the store without paying for the merchandise, but the suspect reportedly pepper sprayed the employee in the face. Police say he then ran through the parking lot towards Sunrise Highway and the employee refused medical attention, police said.

The suspect is described as a black male, around 50 years old. He was last seen wearing a black winter jacket, black cargo pants, brown boots and a black hat.
