H.S. sports postponed

Nassau County High School athletes will have to wait at least one more day to resume taking to the baskeball courts, wrestling mats, bowling alleys, and indoor track facilities.

The snowstorm that began Tuesday morning and lasted into Wednesday wiped out the entire sports schedule on Long Island. Some events have been rescheduled for Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, while others will be played next week.

Wednesday night's wrestling showdown between Long Beach and Kennedy will take place Thursday at 6 p.m. at Long Beach Middle School, according to Marines coach Ray Adams.

Four track and field conference championship meets have been rescheduled. Tuesday's Conference IV and VI girls' meets are set for Sunday at 8 a.m. at St. Anthony's High School, and Wednesday's Conference IV and IV boys' meets will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday at the same site.
