Hunting eggs on a windy day

Where Angels Play Foundation in conjunction with the Village of Island Park held an Easter Egg Hunt at the Caroline Previdi playground on Masone Beach on April 4. The Where Angels Play foundation constructed playgrounds, such as the Caroline Previdi Playground, in areas damaged by Hurricane Sandy in memory of each of the 26 victims of the 2012 Sandy Hill Elementary School massacre in Newtown, Connecticut.  Island Park is home to a playground memorializing one of those students, six-year-old Caroline Previdi. The morning started with a traditional hunt for eggs, which was followed by a raffle for Easter Baskets. Village Mayor Michael McGinty, Deputy Mayor Stephen D’Esposito, Trustees Joseph Annarella and Matthew Paccione, Village Clerk Constance Conroy, Town of Hempstead Councilman Anthony Santino, Island Park Fire Department Chief Anthony D’Esposito and President of the Island Park Business and Residential Chamber President Terry Burton Reichel helped hunt for eggs, serve donuts, juice and coffee, and hand out winning baskets.
