Lighting the night to show support

The Island Park Business and Residential Chamber asked area residents to show their support for police officers that have died in the line of duty. The chamber gave out free blue light bulbs, through member businesses, and asked that people change their porch light for a week. IPBRCC Vice President Matt Interligi said the popular demand for the blue lights made them purchase another 100 to be given out, and extend the event until the end of January.

The lights are available free from the Chamber, HSB Hardscape, Auto Spa, The Local Ale House and Doris the Florist.

In its release the chamber said “These brave men and women have sacrificed everything for us, so let’s show our support.”
