O’side Gym owner used customers’ credit cards

An Oceanside gym owner was arrested for fraudulently using his customers’ credit cards. The owner of 5 Star Boxing at 3199 Lawson Boulevard, Thomas Donovan, 39, of Brigthon Road, Island Park, spent $30,000 on his customers’ credit cards on purchases from Home Depots on Long Island.

Police were alerted to the fraudulent purchases from customer calls. When the Police searched Donovan’s home, they found unlicensed defaced handgun and a quantity of steroids.

Donovan is charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon second degree, Grand Larceny third degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon third degree, Identity Theft first degree, two counts of Grand Larceny fourth degree, Defruad first degree and Identity Theft second degree. He was arraigned in First District Court, Hempstead on Dec. 10.
