The Dover Group has been operating in the food, beverage and hospitality industry for more than 40 years. Under the leadership of its president, Butch Yamali, the group acquires run-down and failing businesses and restores them to flourishing businesses. Every restaurant, catering hall and club touched by this new ownership is brought back to life, completely revitalizes the surrounding community, and adds hundreds of jobs to the area.

After years of working for his father at Dover Delicacies in Manhattan, Butch Yamali went out on his own with one Carnival ice cream truck. That truck evolved into a fleet, and the business expanded to include Quick Snack vending machines, as well as concessions at beaches and parks.

Yamali prides himself on taking on major projects, which to most, might seem insurmountable. The Malibu Beach Club, which, in the 1950s and ’60s was once a popular and trendy summer place, had deteriorated. The property has since been completely restored and renovated to now include a summer camp for more than 400 children, the surrounding shops, and The Maliblue Oyster Bar, a spectacular restaurant and night spot which is open to the public. At the beach club, he refurbished 900 cabanas.

Over the years The Dover Group continued to acquire failing and damaged properties, including The Sands at Lido Beach Catering Hall, The Coral House in Baldwin, Hudson’s on the Mile in Freeport, and Peter’s Clam Bar in Island Park. Most recently, they have added the Milleridge Inn, Cottage and shops to their expanding portfolio of now-successful properties.

“It’s easy for us to take an old place that was once great and put it back together,” said Yamali. “We have a great, professional staff who works together, making everything possible. We are able to give people what they want.”

The Dover Group also includes Dream Event Planning, which offers many services, rentals and amenities to both brides at their own venues and outside, as well as Dover Caterers, which facilitates galas for thousands of people, such as the Long Island Marathon. The Dover Group is happy to assist its growing customer base in any way possible, and will often offer discounts at different venues for existing patrons.
