Overcast Students collect food for families

Students at Francis X. Hegarty School and Lincoln Orens Middle School in Island Park practiced the true meaning of Thanksgiving when they collected food for the less fortunate in their community. Student Council members from both schools worked with Marion Toby, the district’s transportation director, and the transportation department to gather and sort food items for distribution to Island Park families in time for the Thanksgiving holiday. Pictured here sorting the variety of canned and non-perishable goods they collected are Hegarty Student Council members.
