The Jewish High Holidays of Yom Kippur are Friday, Sept. 29 and Saturday, Sept. 30, and the Nassau County Police Department said it will “intensify police patrols around temples and synagogues” during those days.

Nassau County Executive Ed. Mangano and Police Commissioner Patrick J. Ryder met with religious leaders and noted that there are no known imminent threats to Nassau County, but there are “areas of concern.”

Police officials want to remind the public that if they see any suspicious activity to contact 911immediately. Suspicious social media activity can also be reported through Text - a - Tip via the Nassau County Crime Stoppers app available free for smartphones and tablets.
