Sixteen-year-old Sean Flynn, of Bellmore, called all 263 contacts on his cell phone on the afternoon of June 26, when the U.S. Supreme Court ruled 5-4 that the Constitution guarantees the right to gay marriage. All Nassau County parks and outdoor ice rinks would close at 4 p.m. on Monday and re-open when the weather allows, announced County Executive Ed Mangano. All regularly scheduled county events on Monday evening and throughout Tuesday are cancelled, according to a county news release. The county aquatic center in East Meadow and rifle range in Uniondale are also slated to close at 4 p.m. The Nassau County Correctional Center will stop visiting hours from noon on Monday and to Thursday morning. more
