Chamber enjoys successful street fair

Rainy weather on Saturday couldn’t put a damper on the Long Beach Chamber of Commerce’s Street Fair last weekend. The three-day event, running from June 19-21 along the boardwalk at Long Beach Road, featured local vendors, food trucks, carnival rides and a petting zoo.

After heavy rain and flooded streets resulted in sporadic attendance on Saturday, Sunday had the weekend’s biggest turnout of both patrons and vendors, chamber President Mark Tannenbaum said.

“Everything was successful and did very well,” said Tannenbaum. “Sunday was an unbelievable day for the food truck guys. Those benches and picnic tables were filled up the whole time.”

On top of the normal assortment of trucks down at the “Shoregasboard,” four additional food trucks with different varieties of food were added for the fair, Tannenbaum said.

He also recognized chamber Vice-President Jamie Lynch and Corresponding Secretary Ian Danby for working the ticket booth all day on Father’s Day.

“I give them particular kudos,” Tannenbaum said.
