Valley Streamers moseyed around the Arthur J. Hendrickson Park parking lot on Saturday, sifting through collectibles, antiques and other items at the Lions Club’s annual flea market.
“We had fantastic weather, said David Basile, chairman for the event. “It was a nice sunny Saturday — mid ‘70s and a good crowd of vendors.”
Vendors sold jewelry, music records, books, clothing and more as locals mingled and children culled through buckets of toys. The Lions Club donates 100 percent of the proceeds to local charities, sports organizations and other community groups in need.
For more information about the Lions Club’s upcoming events, including its upcoming food drive on Sunday, Oct. 2 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at King Kullen on West Merrick Road, visit the Valley Stream Lions Club Facebook page.
