Long Beach was featured on an episode of HGTV’s “Island Life” Sunday called “Trading Skyline for Shoreline.” The show aired at 10 p.m.

Barbara Mullaney, a local realtor for Century 21 American Homes, worked with Danielle Trawick, 43, a Manhattan teacher, to pick out her dream beach home.

Trawick, who previously lived in Greenwich Village, wanted to trade in the hustle and bustle of the city life for a peaceful lifestyle by the water.

With a budget of $600,000 to $750,000, Trawick chose her new home from three options presented by Mullaney with the help of her best friend, John Faracco, a fellow New York City resident.

“I had been out to Long Beach years earlier — I came out for a Super Bowl party — and I really loved it,” Trawick said. “It was in January and I loved it.”

The filming of the show took place over the course of a few days in August.

“It was a very good choice and I’m very happy to be here,” she said.

The filming process with HGTV was something very new to her.

“It’s nothing I’ve ever done before,” Trawick said. “It was nerve-wracking being in front of the cameras.”

She also commented on her relationship with Mullaney.

“Barbara was tremendous at what she does throughout the entire experience. She’s just really wonderful to work with. She made me feel really comfortable for what was a difficult move for me, mentally and emotionally.”

“I was extremely proud to showcase Long Beach,” Mullaney said. “My hope is that this episode highlighting Long Beach will benefit the community, bring exposure and encourage people to come and live here and experience life on our barrier island.”
