Long Island Fair
The Long Island Fair, Old Bethpage Village’s recreation of a 19th century county fair continues to be a welcome fall tradition, now in its 170th year. Visit the interactive farm where kids can help gather crops or market, see animals at the livestock barn, take part in corn husking and potato sack races, and test skill and strength at the two-person cross-cut sawing in friendly competition. Historical period entertainment includess musicians, dancers, jugglers, and mimes. Baseball fans can see the end-of-season playoff matches of OBVR’s Old Time Base Ball League.
Thursday through Sunday, Sept. 27-30, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Thursday and Friday admission is $12, $8 seniors and children ages 5-12; Saturday is “Dollar Day”; Sunday admission is $15, $8 seniors and children. Old Bethpage Village Restoration, Round Swamp Rd., Old Bethpage. (516) 572-8400.

In Concert

Giada Valenti
Italian singer-songwriter Giada Valenti visits the Madison Theatre with “Tribute To Love,” her heart-tugging revue of enchanting love songs. The Venice, Italy-born Valenti performs a selection of hits from the ‘60s, ‘70s and ‘80s.

Family Fun

“Cruise To The Show”
More than 1,000 vehicles of all makes and models are on parade, during the “Cruise to the Show” Parade and Car Show, which makes its way from Briarcliffe College to Eisenhower Park. A car show follows in the park, featuring a performance by rock legend Eddie Money, along with participation by the Nassau County Firefighters Museum, the Cradle of Aviation, Long Island Children’s Museum, and more.
Sunday, Sept. 30, beginning 9 a.m., with concert at 3 p.m. Concertgoers are requested to bring non-perishable for donation to Island Harvest. Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre, located near parking fields 6 and 6A, Eisenhower Park, East Meadow. (516) 572-0200.
