Summer Stage

The Sound of Music
Those hills — or in this case Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre — come alive with the sound of music when Plaza Theatrical Productions brings the beloved musical to Eisenhower Park. The classic musical of hope and inspiration continues to enchant audiences of all ages, with Rodgers and Hammerstein’s timeless-award winning score. As Rodgers and Hammerstein’s final triumphant collaboration, based on the true story of the Von Trapp family, this family musical features those iconic melodies, including “My Favorite Things,” “Do-Re-Me,” “Climb Every Mountain,” and, of course, the title song, “The Sound of Music.” Bring the family and enjoy the summer tradition of theater under the stars.
Friday, July 19, 7 p.m. Free admission. Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre, Eisenhower Park, East Meadow. (516) 572-0200 or special events line at (516) 572-0223.
