Long Beach summer beach passes on sale

City beach passes for the 2018 summer season went on sale Monday, and officials said that all beaches would be open even as the Army Corps of Engineers prepares for the second phase of its coastal protection project.

Beach passes can be purchased seven-days-a-week at the Gazebo, across from the Long Beach Ice Arena, at 150 West Bay Drive. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and weekends from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. through June 24.

Who is required to have a Beach Pass?

All those who have reached the age 13 must have a beach pass to enter or remain on the beach on weekends from May 26 (including Memorial Day) through June 17 and daily from June 23 through Sept. 3. Non-residents are entitled to the same privileges as residents.

Where can I buy Season Passes?
Season Passes are on sale at the Gazebo across from the Long Beach Ice Arena, at 150 West Bay Drive. The Gazebo will be open weekdays beginning from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and weekends from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. beginning May 7 through June 24.

Season Passes will also be on sale at the Beach Trailer (300 West Broadway) at the southwest corner of Laurelton Boulevard and West Broadway. The trailer will be open weekends only from Saturday, May 26, (including Memorial Day) through Sunday, June 17, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Passes will be sold daily from Saturday, June 23, through Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 3, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Where can I buy a Daily Passes?
Daily Non-resident admission passes will be sold to anyone who has reached their thirteenth (13) birthday at the rate of $15.00 per day. Locations for the sale of daily admission passes are at Pacific, Roosevelt, Neptune, Franklin, Lincoln, Monroe, Long Beach Blvd., Riverside, Edwards, National, Magnolia, Laurelton, Lafayette, Lindell, Grand, New York Ave, Arizona, Virginia, Maryland and Connecticut. Daily Resident Passes are on sale at the Beach Park Trailer at a rate of $12 per day.

Is there a Family Discount?
Yes. Family Season passes include 2 adult passes & passes for those children living in the household between the ages of 13 and 17. Children 12 & under are free and children 18 & older are considered adults. Proof of birth date must be presented at the time of purchase.

Children born after September 3, 2005 will not need a beach pass in the Summer of 2017 and those born before May 25, 2000 will need to purchase an adult pass.

Is there a further discount for Long Beach Residents?
Yes. City of Long Beach Residents pay $70 for a season pass, while non-residents pay $140 for a season.

What do I need to provide?
Residency: Those wishing to purchase season/daily passes at the resident rate must have an address in the City of Long Beach. The following forms of proof are acceptable. Driver’s license with Long Beach address, check, bill or lease with Long Beach address and picture ID.

Child: A child pass will be issued when proof of age is presented via birth certificate or passport or other acceptable form of identification.
Senior Citizen: Driver’s license or passport indicating birth date on or before May 26, 1956.

Access Pass: documentation indicating physical disability.
Military Rate: Government ID indicating holder is a member or has been honorably discharged from a branch of the United States Armed Services.
