Crime report: Lynbrook, East Rockaway

A 39 year old man from Lynbrook was arrested on March 14 at 5:53 p.m. and charged with aggravated unlicensed operator, failure to signal and tinted windows on Lyon Place.

On March 15 at 5:42 p.m., a 35 year old from Woodmere was arrested and charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance (heroin, amphetamines) and resisting arrest on Merrick Road.

A 26 year old man from South Ozone Park, Queens was arrested on March 18 at 1:10 a.m. and charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) and possession of marijuana on Merrick Road.

A 43 year old Brooklyn woman was arrested on March 18 at 1:10 a.m. on Merrick Road and charged with possession of a controlled substance (cocaine), aggravated unlicensed operator, possession of marijuana and failure to obey a traffic control device.

On March 18 at 1:10 a.m., a 32 year old from St. Albans, Queens was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana on Merrick Road.

A 41 year old Baldwin man was arrested on March 19 at 10:29 p.m. and charged with driving while intoxicated, driving under the influence of alcohol and aggravated unlicensed operator on Sunrise Highway.

On March 20 at 7 a.m., a 30 year old woman and 29 year old man, both from Brooklyn, turned themselves in to Lynbrook detectives in regard to several other incidents in Brooklyn and Queens in which they were collecting fraudulent donations to pay for a funeral for a child they claimed had passed away. They were arrested in Lynbrook on March 3, and were charged with a scheme to defraud and endangering the welfare of a child.

Criminal mischief

Between the hours of 4 a.m. and 4 p.m. on March 19, a suspect used a sharp object to damage the trunk and both windshields of a 2013 Nissan Altima, and the windshield and hood of a 2012 Ford Escape. The damages to the Nissan Altima totaled $800, and the damage to the Ford Escape totaled $400. Both vehicles were parked in a driveway on Lancaster Street.
