Kennedy Plaza Christmas Tree Lighting

Join city officials and Long Beach organizations as they celebrate the season at the annual Kennedy Plaza Christmas Tree Lighting Event on Friday, Dec. 6. The event will kick off at 4 p.m. Families can enjoy arts and crafts, hot chocolate and cookies and more under a tent in Kennedy Plaza. Pearl Harbor Commemoration

The Joint Veterans Organization of Long Beach invite the community to honor all who lost their lives in the Pearl Harbor attacks. The ceremony will take place at Veterans Park, at 50 W. Bay Dr. or in the case of inclement weather at The Long Beach Ice Arena, at 150 W. Bay Dr., at 11 a.m. For more information, visit www.longbeachny.gov.

Jingle Bell Toys for Tots 5K Run

The City of Long Beach in cooperation with the Long Beach VFW Post 1384 will host the 6th annual Jingle Bell 5K Run for Toys for Tots. The run will take place on Saturday, Dec.7, at 6 p.m. on the Long Beach boardwalk. Registration begins at 4 p.m. at the VFW, located at 675 W. Park Ave., in Long Beach. Shuttles buses will bring participants to and from the boardwalk. Santa hats or jingle bells will also be given to the first 100 registrants. The fee is $25 before Dec. 6 at 3 p.m., day of race registration is $30. Please bring an unwrapped toy to donate to the annual Marine Corps Toys for Tots Drive. Historical Society Vintage Holiday Boutique

The Long Beach Historical Society is sponsoring a Vintage Holiday Boutique shopping experience on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 7-8, and Dec. 14-15, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the museum located at 226 W. Penn St. For more information, call 516-432-1192.

7th Annual Meatball Cook off

12th Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony
